I don't know what to title this post. We are really busy, making preparations to go home for Christmas, practicing for Christmas programs, just a lot of stuff. And to pull everything down to a grinding halt, Eliza is sick. Not just stuffy nose, but full blown high fever, awful cough, throwing up, everything. Jacqueline was up for about an hour and a half in the middle of the night with a stuffy nose. For a baby, that is a frustrating thing. Sucking on a binki and breathing through the nose aren't parallel actions when the breathing orifice is plugged. She calmed down and finally went back to sleep. Thank goodness I didn't have to get up and get Eliza off to school.
She'll pull through and it has forced me to slow down a bit. We had some friends over for dinner last night, I call it Rib Fest 2006. I made 12 racks of ribs, coleslaw, beans, and friends brought corn on the cob, macaroni and rolls. It was a success! It is a bit stressful at times being the hostess, but I would much rather have it here on my home turf. And if I want to socialize with people, I've just got to take the initiative and have people over to our place. The best feature of our apartment is the dining area/living & sitting room. We have plenty of seating and it's not a big stress on the kids like picking up and going somewhere else.
Grant must be compensating for Eliza in the energy department. He is always full of it, in more ways than one, and he just can't stand being cooped up for more than a day, max. Mairyn is excited to have her big sister home for the day but just doesn't understand why Eliza isn't interested in playing. Oh well, until the next post.
