It was time. The mane grew out of control. As was the girl. Day after day of fighting tangles, tears, wailing and gnashing of teeth. Enough, I say. Something has to be done. Jacqueline has been shorn of her long locks. But don't shed any tears for her (she did enough of that), it will be easier, for both of us!

I was almost afraid this was going to be a "Jacquie found the scissors" post... glad to see it was more controlled than that! My niece had long curly hair when she was little and gave herself a "Princess haircut"... about 4 inches long in front, about 2 inches in back. oops!
Jacquie's hair looks beautiful! And I can imagine it will be easier.. this is such a tough age, they want to "Do it myself" but cannot follow instructions well yet, so conditioner doesn't get applied well, etc. I love the way you displayed the photos too.
I won't shed any tears. A giggle or two might come out, but no tears. I promise!
Her hair was so long! It looks great! I hope that we get to see you all this summer.
I'm right there with you--if they won't cooperate then OFF it comes.
