A very Merry Christmas

We had a very Merry Christmas here in Rexburg. The night before held the traditional matching jammies.

If you'll notice, Grant is missing. This is what he was doing. He put himself in timeout. He did not like the jammies.

We said everyone gets to open one present on Christmas Eve. He thought that meant ANY present of his choosing. Nay no burrito. Present opening begins from youngest to oldest, so Jacqui opened her's and when Grant saw that she pulled out jammies, he flipped out, went ballistic.
"I don't want jammies! I don't like penguins!" One of those moments when you are truly proud to be a parent. Though he did come around tonight, 24 hours after the moment. He came to me, "Mommy, I'm ready to wear my penguin jammies." Wonderful, dude.

Here is the traditional Christmas morning hall mug shot, I mean, line up of youngest to oldest. All in all, a very memorable and to-be cherished Christmas.

Mug shot, line up... lol!

Christmas sure brings out the best and the worst. Xander did well this year, but I'm still horrified from last year. lol One advantage of not living near any family is that no one saw it but James and I.

We do the jammies too, although I never try and match my kids because they have too varied of tastes and I don't always feel the need to have them be the same. Maybe one year I will do it though and see what happens.

It could be interesting.

The year of the jammies! I got us all (mostly) matching jammies this year for the first time. I wrapped them up for the kids to find by the fireplace the morning of Christmas eve. They didn't believe it was elves though... they knew I did it :D I didn't think to get any posed photos though. Oh, and fortunately, they were red flannel, so they matched, very nicely, the santa hats that you and my mother-in-law sent us so we could carry on our family tradition of pretending to be Santa's helpers when handing out prezzies! THANK YOU!!!

Aww. Glad Grant changed his mind. Even if it was too late.
